Come Fly With Me, Let's Fly, Let's Fly Away...............

There is SO much importance to putting together the right outfit for pictures. For newborns and infants, it can be more about what you do not wear, but never the less, clothing options are essential to the look and overall outcome of a session. THE MOST important part of the outfit, and what I have begun to notice, the most overlooked part of the outfit are the ACCESSORIES!!! Have fun when selecting your clothing. Layers and accessories are so much fun and can really help bring together the whole look! Now, as a mother of three boys, you can imagine that I do not always have a lot to work with. Retailers are geared toward girls. Check out the girl selection at ANY store....it is nearly double in size to the boy section. And how many times do you see a stand alone store JUST for boys.....I can not think of one, but could name five off the top of my head right now for girls. So imagine my delight and excitement (I think I actually had to hold in a squeal) when I saw this hat. My wheels began turning immediately. And here is the outcome of that inspiration.

It's not always as easy as it looks.....getting these shots..... It can definitely be work, and equally frustrating for me and subjects at times. But the finished product is always worth the challenge.

Sweet boy!!! This is his "I'm not quite sure, but I do not think I am supposed to be taking this hat off" look. "Maybe she won't notice"......I am honestly surprised that there wasn't a very mischevious look here....

We do end up with tears occasionally, and usually a hat is the culprit...But I always try to be sensitive and not drag it out ANY longer than absolutely necessary. I would rather attempt to reshoot at another time than totally stress them out. Poor guy, I imagine it must be frustrating to be a baby sometimes. Especially one this cute!

As you can see above, and the photo with the tears, even though the session took maybe 10 minutes, we spent about 9 1/4 minutes of that time taking the hat off.....and putting the hat on...... I think at times he thought it was a game.
